April 28, 2013: Occasionally known for playing unusual musical themes, the University of Sydney's bell tower has rung out a rendition of the opening theme to the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.
It seems the bell-ringers at the University of Sydney are fans of Game of Thrones.
In video posted online, the theme song from the popular television series can be heard ringing out from the campus bell-tower on Friday.
It is not clear why the bell ringers, or carillonneurs, chose to play the tune.
But a university spokesman said online rumours that fans of the show had "hacked" the tower were incorrect and the bells often played unusual music, the Daily Telegraph reported.
"There are particular things they'll lay on graduation days and for other events," he said.
