Doctors are fighting to save a man's arm after it became caught in machinery at a tyre factory in Sydney's south-west last night.
Emergency services were called to the factory at Minto about 7pm (AEDT).
They arrived to find the 48-year-old man with his entire right arm caught in a rolling machine.
Firefighters worked to free the man while he was tended to by paramedics.
CareFlight spokesman Ian Badham says it took some time to get the man's arm free.
"The 45 minutes it took to release his full right arm from the rolling machine the ambulance paramedics and CareFlight doctor worked to stabilise him," he said.
"He's been taken to Liverpool Hospital where attempts are underway to save the arm."
The man remains in a serious but stable condition.
