Sonny Bill Williams will miss the Sydney Roosters' next two NRL matches after putting in an early guilty plea to his grade three careless high tackle.
Williams was placed on report for a shoulder to the head of Newcastle's Willy Mason in the Roosters 28-12 win at Hunter Stadium.
It is a big blow for Sydney as it tries to rein in the ladder leading Rabbitohs, six rounds out from the NRL finals.
He will miss Sydney's clashes with Penrith at Panthers Stadium and the Canberra Raiders at Homebush.
Williams will return for Sydney in the round 23 match against the Wests Tigers at Sydney's Olympic stadium.
Really gutted to have let the boys down but I know they'll hold ish down for a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, Canberra Raiders winger Sandor Earl is free to play this weekend after taking the early guilty plea for his grade one careless high tackle on Dragons captain Ben Creagh.
Parramatta's Willie Tonga has escaped suspension after pleading guilty to a dangerous throw on Bulldogs opponent Josh Reynolds.
