NSW Police Minister Michael Gallacher has pleaded for anyone with information about two fatal Sydney shootings to contact police.
"If you want to stop your loved ones, your friends, your family, if they're involved in organised crime, from falling at the end of a gun, then make a call to police and make that call as quickly as you can," Police Minister Gallacher said.
"People who are out there listening to community concern about these events would have access to information that could be invaluable."
Mr Gallacher stressed that the calls to police could be made anonymously.
Bassil Hijazi, 18, was shot overnight in a suburban car park in Bexley, in Sydney's south west.
The young man was killed in a flurry of bullets, just days after being released from hospital.
Mr Hijazi was a Comanchero bikie gang member and had survived being shot in the neck two weeks ago when his car was peppered with bullets.
That shooting was an apparent revenge attack for the killings of two Hells Angels bikies.
According to witnesses, Mr Hijazi was chased in his car then cornered before being shot while he was still inside the vehicle, Fairfax reported.
Witnesses said Mr Hijazi then ran towards the road and collapsed in a pool of blood, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Last night, Mr Hijazi was taken to St George Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Specialist forensic officers are at the scene of the incident.
A neighbour and friend, Hussein Abdallah, told the Telegraph he heard six loud gunshots.
"He got caught up in dumb stuff, you have to be prepared to die if you get caught up in stuff like that."
Social media websites were flooded with tributes to Mr Hijazi.
Muckbil Ali took to Facebook to remember his friend.
"Rest in Peace Brother. I remember those Soccer days together then our high school days at Hurstville Boys. It only feels like yesterday. Your in a better place Bassil."
Rebecca Babyye also wrote on Facebook: "Sill (sic) can't get through my head that he's gone. Keeps going through my head that phone call we had a few days ago ):rip Bassil Hijazi."
Meanwhile, 35-year-old debt collector Vasko Boskovski was shot in the Sydney suburb of Earlwood overnight. He died in hospital early this morning.
Police said they had "information to suggest that a dark vehicle was seen leaving the area."
Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said both victims were known to police although the shootings were not believed to be linked.
"It was a violent night for Sydney, there's no doubt about that," Supt Willing told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday.
"The persons responsible for this crime do not care about the public, they are reckless.
"Somebody out there knows who committed these crimes and we want those people to come forward."
The shootings are the latest in a string of gun attacks believed to be linked to a bikie turf war.
Anyone with information about the incidents should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
