Police confirmed that three people have been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
"I heard someone yelling, then it went: bang, bang, bang and it didn't sound like firecrackers," one neighbour told smh.com.au.
Residents say part of The Horsley Drive has been closed off and a large police presence is in the street with at least one helicopter circling overhead.
