Customs officers at Sydney Airport have found 4.5 kilograms of the drug ephedrine hidden in prams.
The three prams arrived in air cargo from China.
Customs spokesman Campbell Massey says the crystal substance, which is used to make methamphetamine also known as "ice", was found in the cushions of each pram.
"Customs officers X-rayed all three prams. After making incisions in the cushions, they found the ephedrine. Those caught with ephedrine face fines of up to $510 000, and or 15 years in prison."
Mr Massey says no suspects have been identified and officers are calling on the public for assistance.
