Police are investigating whether two drivers involved in a fatal crash in Sydney's south-west on Sunday night were street racing in the moments before they lost control of their vehicles.
Amin Asfour, 18, was a front seat passenger in one of the vehicles and died at the scene of the crash on the Hume Highway in Greenacre. Five other people were taken to hospital, including one man with serious head injuries.
Police said a Mitsubishi Lancer and a red Nissan Pulsar were travelling east on the highway about 6.35pm when the vehicles collided.

They then crashed over a grassed median strip and collided with a Mercedes sedan and a silver Nissan Pulsar travelling in the opposite direction on the highway.
Mr Asfour, who was in the Lancer, died at the scene of the crash. The driver of that vehicle, who is believed to be Mr Asfour's cousin, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.
The 23-year-old driver of the red Pulsar suffered minor injuries, along with the the 42-year-old male driver of the Mercedes, the 25-year-old male driver of the silver Nissan and his 21-year-old male passenger.
Amin Asfour, 18, was killed in the crash.
All of the drivers underwent mandatory blood tests following the crash, police said.
Friends of Mr Asfour, who is believed to have just completed his HSC, paid tribute to the teenager on social media.
"may you rest in paradise inshalah!," wrote one friend.
"you where a friend and a brother too us all ! always had a smile on your face we all love you !"
Another friend wrote: "May Allah have mercy and give his parents the strength to overcome this calamity."
Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit closed the Hume Highway in both directions for several hours while they examined the crash scene on Sunday night.
Several of the cars have been seized for further examination
