A $100,000 reward for information on the 1982 bombings of the Israeli Consulate in Sydney and the Jewish Hakoah Club at Bondi has been offered by the NSW government.

The reward follows breakthroughs in the bombing investigation by NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police attached to the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team.

"Through the course of the re-investigation into the bombings further information has come to light which could hold the key to identifying those responsible," NSW Police said in a statement.

Police is due to release new information on the bombings on December 23, 1982, at the Israeli Consulate General in Sydney's William Street, and in a vehicle parked in the car park of the Hakoah Club at Bondi. They injured two people and caused significant damage.

The case was reopened in August last year, with NSW Police, the AFP, the NSW Crime Commission and ASIO involved.

Police have since established the gas cylinders that formed part of the bomb at the Hakoah Club had been stolen from Sydney's Central railway station.

They have also identified a third person of interest, a woman, and two more vehicles linked to the two attacks.
