Sydneysiders are being urged to check their lotto tickets after a mystery person won half of the Division One prize pool in last night's Powerball draw.
The lucky entry is one of two winners, each entry to take home $31,027,691.70.
Elissa Lewis from Tatts Lotto spoke on Sunrise this morning and said the entry from Sydney was unregistered.
"We don't know who purchased it and all we know is that it was purchased in the Sydney CBD," she said.
A 15-person syndicate from the Melbourne suburb of Cheltenham was the other winner of the draw.
If there had only been one winner last night, they would have been the single lottery winner ever recorded in Australia.
The Powerball numbers are: 34 37 23 10 4 39 Powerball is 20
