The bodies of two women have been discovered in a house in Sydney's west.
The homicide squad has launched an investigation after the women were found at the Paul Street home in Auburn.
Police received a call at 9.50pm on Wednesday saying someone had been killed at the one-storey fibro house.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said when officers went inside, they discovered two bodies.
"Their deaths are being treated as suspicious at this time and inquiries are continuing," the police spokeswoman said.
Police have not revealed how the women died or their ages. However the scene where the women were found was believed to be very confronting for emergency service workers who attended.
Detectives remained at the house on Thursday morning, and were doorknocking neighbouring homes in their search for clues.
Evidence markers are scattered throughout the backyard of the house and a large forensics can is blocking Paul Street.
Neighbours said an Asian man and woman lived in the home and at least one Asian man lived in a granny flat at the back. There were no children who lived at the property.
Kristin and Ecram Tana were in their home around 10pm when the incident occurred over their back fence.
They said they heard nothing at all.
"Whatever has happened, it's happened very quietly," Mrs Tana said.
She said the residents were very quiet and always kept to themselves.
They were rarely seen in their backyard and the only noises neighbours would hear was the occasional banging of pots and pans from the granny flat.
"They're never out mowing the lawn or doing anything like that," Mrs Tana said.
