SYDNEY father Mark Anthony Hanson, already serving time for child sexual assault, has had his case on 18 further charges relating to girls aged eight to 17 adjourned until next year.

The case against Hanson was adjourned in Parramatta Local Court this morning until February 6.

Hanson, 50, who is serving a sentence at Parklea Jail for two previous child sex attacks, was not required to appear in court and his lawyer, Stuart Titmarsh, said that he would not be making an application for bail because of the long sentence he is already serving.

Hanson's victims were young schoolchildren who were on their way to school or back home as he stalked them in his company Commodore.

He is facing 18 more charges relating to alleged sexual and indecent assaults upon six young girls in parks and reserves in Sydney's north and north-west.

The new charges follow investigations by the NSW Sex Crimes Squad into reported similar incidents in the area between 2007 and 2011 and detectives believe there may be more victims.

Hanson, a salesman for Wattyl Paints, pleaded guilty in March to trying to kidnap a six-year-old girl at South Turramurra and grabbing the throat of a 14-year-old girl and threatening to rape her at Westleigh in February and April last year.

He was jailed for seven-and-a-half years with a minimum of period of five years and three months.

ATTEMPTED ABDUCTIONS

The new charges relate to sexual intercourse with child under 10, aggravated sexual assault, indecent assault, assault with act of indecency, kidnapping, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and offences relating to the production of child abuse material.

Police will allege that he sexually assaulted two eight-year-old girls in bushland at the Fred Caterson Recreation Reserve at Castle Hill on 30 August 2007.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted on a bush track off Hall Street, South Turramurra, on 4 December 2007.

It is also alleged that he abducted and assaulted a girl, nine, in bushland near Holland Reserve Oval, Glenhaven, on 3 November 2009 and two girls, aged nine and 10, at gunpoint at Auluba Reserve, South Turramurra, on 2 December 2011.

Police have until January 30 next year to serve their brief of evidence.
