The NSW government has reached "the point of no return" in awarding a $1.1 billion contract to dig 15km tunnels for its North West rail link project, according to the NSW Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian.
The contract was won by a consortium of Thiess, John Holland and Spanish company Dragados, with the first boring scheduled to begin by the end of next year.
