A 48-year-old man has died after snorkelling off a beach in Sydney's east.
Police say the man got into difficulty while out with two friends off North Maroubra beach yesterday.
Lifesavers pulled the man from the water a short time later and gave him CPR.
He was flown to Prince of Wales Hospital, but died on arrival.
The man's friends did not need medical care.
Police are continuing their investigation and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
