A MAN has suffered multiple stab wounds after he was attacked by gatecrashers at a party in Sydney's west.
About 70 people were at a party at a home in Minchinbury around 11.30pm (AEDT) on Friday, when a group came to the home and spoke to a 17-year-old girl who lived there, police said on Saturday.
A fight broke out with a number of people spilling out onto the street.
Police said a 23-year-old man tried to intervene and help a man who had fallen to the ground when he was allegedly stabbed on his arms, chest and face a number of times with a screwdriver.
He was also kicked and assaulted when he fell to the ground.
The man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
