WILD Oats XI was rocketing down the NSW coast at the head of the Sydney-Hobart fleet last night, with controversy engulfing one of its pre-race rivals behind it and the "possibility" of a race record still in its sights.
After surging clear of its rivals within minutes of the start, Wild Oats XI was already off Kiama as darkness fell, powering through 2m waves.
