A PERSON has died and two have been injured after shots were fired in the Sydney suburb of Redfern.
An ambulance spokesman told AAP reports of gunshots were received around 11.40am (AEDT) on Friday.
NSW Fire and Rescue crews are at the scene.
News Ltd reports shots were fired from behind Redfern station.
The area has been sealed off and Redfern and Regent streets are closed to traffic.
A police spokeswoman said she was unable to immediately confirm media reports the dead man was shot by police.
