Nine members of the gang Brothers 4 Life have been arrested over the shooting deaths and woundings of their own members in a spate of incidents spanning more than a year in Sydney.

Five men, including senior figures within the group, were arrested over the daylight killing of Yehya Amoud in Greenacre, in Sydney's south-west, last year.

Amoud, a member of Brothers 4 Life, died at the scene and his friend Bassam Hijazi was wounded when a gunman opened fire as they sat in a Mercedes with the number plate BFL on Greenacre Road on October 14.

The incident is linked to the shooting of a man in the leg in Yagoona on October 8 last year.

The victim there was a member of Brothers 4 Life.

A police source says Mohammed Hamzy, also known as Hamoudi, is among those arrested in relation to the Greenacre shooting.

Mohammed Hamzy is the cousin of Brothers 4 Life founder, convicted murderer Bassam Hamzy.

Four other Brothers 4 Life members were arrested on Thursday morning in relation to the shooting of two men as they sat in a BMW at Bankstown overnight.

Residents in West Terrace reported hearing a number of shots being fired just before 12.20am.

Moments later, two men presented themselves to Bankstown Hospital with gunshot wounds.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Three of the men allegedly involved were arrested at Parramatta less than an hour later, while a fourth was apprehended at Pendle Hill at 4.20am.

The nine arrests follow more than a week of shootings linked to the gang.

These include:

- the killing of Mahmoud Hamzy, the cousin of Bassam and Mohammed Hamzy, who was shot dead in Revesby Heights on November 3.

- the shooting of two other gang members, including Omar Ajaj, who was in the garage.

- the wounding of a 13-year-old girl, who was shot when gunmen opened fire in an attack meant for her gang member brother.

- the shooting of gang member Michael Odisho who was hit in the arm and thighs at Winston Hills on Sunday night.

Mohammed Hamzy, who also lived at the Revesby Heights home and drives a car with number plates reading MEOC (standing for Middle Eastern Organised Crime), was seen at the crime scene only hours later, joking about the gunshots being "like fireworks".
