A 14-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Sydney's north-west early earlier this week has been found safe and well in country Victoria.

Krystal Muhieddine left her family's home at Hunters Hill in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

She was last seen driving away as a passenger in a silver hatchback with red P-plates about 5:30am.

Police say the teenager was located today just before 11:30am (AEDT) in an unspecified location in Victoria.

Her parents appealed for information on their daughter's location and wellbeing yesterday.

Her father Wally Muhieddine said the teenager was not "street-wise".

"She's actually quite bright and sophisticated in so many other ways, but she sleeps with her teddy bear. She took her teddy bear with her."

Police had said they were investigating social networking websites, after the girl's friends revealed she had been communicating with a boy online.
