The top floor of a Sydney apartment building has been gutted by fire, with dozens of crews required to get the blaze under control.
The fire broke out in the Cook Road, Centennial Park building shortly before 4pm, with reports of thick black smoke blanketing the sky above Fox Studios.
All 57 apartments from the eight stories had to be evacuated, including the apartment belonging to Australian cricketer Ed Cowan.

NSW Fire and Rescue Commissioner Greg Mullins said the fire began on a communal area on the apartment roof
"When the first fire crews arrived they could see flames leaping from the roof," NSW Fire and Mr Mullins said. "[There was] lots of thick black smoke.
"The fire included decking, and pergolas and a barbecue area on the roof."

Multiple crews from Fire and Rescue NSW battled to contain the fire, which had engulfed the top floor of the building.
It remains unclear whether anyone was injured or temporarily trapped in the blaze.
It’s understood one person was trapped in a stairwell but was rescued.
An investigation will determine the cause of the fire.
