Commuters are urged to check their usual public transport services as Sydney's new transport timetable is rolled out.
The changes include 2700 additional weekly services across the network and some new or altered departure times for Sydney trains, buses and ferries from Sunday.
NSW Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian concedes there will be a few hiccups as the integrated transport timetable is rolled out.
"I'm not expecting a glitch-free day," she told reporters.
"I'm not expecting this week to go smoothly because it is an enormous challenge for our staff.
"It's an enormous challenge for everyone involved in implementing the timetable.
"So I do want to stress there could be small hiccups along the way, we are anticipating those, but obviously once the timetable is embedded and once our staff and systems are in place I am confident people will be so pleased with the result."
Ms Berejiklian said people would likely be on trains for less time and with less people.
Monday morning would be the first real test of the timetable, she said.
Among the raft of changes are an extra 1000 train services a week, 1700 bus services and 55 ferry services.
Sydney Trains chief executive Howard Collins, chief operating officer of the London Underground before he joined Sydney Trains in July, said it was the first timetable change of a generation.
"It's certainly been a big challenge for us," he said.
"But all my staff will be out today, and will be all week trying to help customers."
