MANCHESTER United have arrived in Australia ahead of their highly anticipated clash with A-League All Stars in Sydney.
Dozens of fans were at Sydney airport to greet the stars of the Premier League champions who'll take on the All Stars in front of over 80,000 fans at a sold-out ANZ Stadium on Saturday.
United veteran Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand were among players who signed autographs along with new coach David Moyes.
Captain Nemanja Vidic and England striker Wayne Rooney were among a handful of injured players who didn't made the trip to Australia while star striker Robin van Persie and goalkeeper David de Gea were due to join up with the squad on Wednesday.
Phil Neville, a former Manchester United defender and now an assistant under Moyes, offered a cheeky Twitter comment on arrival, noting England's commanding position in the first Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.
"Hello Sydney Australia," he tweeted.
"Would be nice to wrap up the first test today-and rub it in with the locals here in Sydney!"
Ferdinand, who walked out with with a video camera documenting the side's arrival, also took to social media.
"1st impressions of Sydney.....impressive & really liking the vibe here...chilled!," he tweeted.
The Red Devils arrived from Bangkok where Moyes' reign at the club began with an embarrassing 1-0 shock defeat at the hands of Thailand's All-Star XI on Saturday.
He'll be looking to rebound from that result against an A-League All Stars squad missing the competition's three big name players in Alessandro Del Piero, Shinji Ono and Emile Heskey.
