The Sydney Roosters have announced a new signing… and he's from France.


Prop Rémi Casty, 28, will join his former coach Trent Robinson at the end of the year on a two-year deal.


“It's my career achievement. It's something I've always wanted to do since I started playing rugby," said Casty.


I've spent eight wonderful seasons at the Catalans Dragons, I'm very proud to have worn this jersey and I will never thank enough the club for all he brought to me."

Catalans Dragons prop Rémi Casty will leave the club at the end of the current 2013 Super League season to join NRL side Sydney Roosters.


Catalans Dragons have agreed to release Casty from his current contract at the end of this season granting him a move to Sydney Roosters on a two-year contract.


Casty, 28, made his first team debut in 2006 and has currently made 155 Super League appearances and scored 18 tries.


“It's my career achievement. It's something I've always wanted to do since I started playing rugby. I've spent eight wonderful seasons at the Catalans Dragons, I'm very proud to have worn this jersey and I will never thank enough the club for all he brought to me.”

Casty, who has be named in the 2012 Super League Dream Team, will join his former Headcoach Trent Robinson.


“It's obviously a big loss for our club, but it's a great opportunity for him to play alongside the best players in the world.


I was aware of the negotiations from the beginning, we have always worked seamlessly with Remi. He told us he will come back at the club after his NRL experience.


He is a great leader, he will come back stronger and will share his experience with the young forwards coming through at the club.” said Catalans chairman Bernard Guasch.


"It is a great recognition of the work done by our club. By recruiting our Headcoach, conditioner and now our player, it's certify the quality of the work done by the members of the club, who have been able to improve and develop the staff and players," said Catalans CEO Christophe Jouffret.
