Two prison escapees have been recaptured in dramatic circumstances in Sydney overnight, with one jumping from the balcony of a CBD apartment and the other allegedly crashing a stolen car during a police pursuit.
The latest arrest occurred at 12.30am on Friday, when police forced their way into a 12th floor apartment on Market Street in Sydney after reports that escapee Dragan Davidovic was inside.
The 39-year-old had been on the run since May 6, when he allegedly escaped from the outer grounds of Long Bay Correctional Complex while on a work detail. He is believed to have made his getaway on a child's motorised scooter.

Captured: Michael Tuite.
Police received a tip-off that Davidovic was inside an apartment in the high-rise unit block, and detectives and officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad forced their way inside early on Friday morning.
As the officers entered the 12th-floor unit, police allege Davidovic ran to the balcony and jumped from it onto the balcony of an adjoining apartment in an attempt to escape police.
He was quickly arrested, and police say it was fortunate he did not injure himself during the daring escape attempt.
Davidovic was taken to City Central Police Station where he is expected to be charged on Friday.
Another man and a woman who were inside the unit at the time were also arrested and are expected to be charged with harbouring an escapee.
In a separate incident early on Friday morning, police arrested 19-year-old Michael Tuite, who in May was able to walk unnoticed out of Fairfield Police Station while wearing his green prison tracksuit.
Tuite was being held at the police station after appearing at the neighbouring local court for robbery and property offences on May 29. But when NSW Corrective Services officers arrived to take him back to prison, the 19-year-old could not be found.
Security footage showed him walking from the police station dressed in his green prison tracksuit.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said that just after midnight on Friday, police attached to the North West Metropolitan Region saw a car, which was reported stolen earlier this week, driving along Pennant Hills Road.
Officers attempted to stop the car but the driver allegedly sped off and officers began pursuing the vehicle.
On Clive Road in Eastwood the vehicle crashed into a wall, before Tuite allegedly ran from the vehicle into a nearby school. He was arrested by officers a short time later.
A 17-year-old passenger in the car, who remained in the vehicle after it crashed, also was arrested.
Neither teenager was injured in the crash. They were taken Ryde Police Station where they are being interviewed by police.
Police say Tuite is expected to be charged with numerous offences, while the 17-year-old will be charged with be carried in conveyance and breaching bail.
An investigation into Tuite's escape from Fairfield Police Station is ongoing.
On June 5, a 22-year-old man was charged with aiding his escape from the police station.
