Man rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds after suburban Sydney shooting - ABC Local

Police have cordoned off a street in Sydney's south-west where a teenager has been shot outside a block of units.

The injured man was found lying on the ground outside the units in Greenacre just after 11:00am AEST.

He has been taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition, and police have set up a crime scene on Greenacre road.

A neighbour says it is not the first time they have heard gunshots on the street.

"We're quite used to it, we hear the sound of gunshots quite regularly in these areas unfortunately. A lot of people just want this to end," he said.

"It was quite frantic because obviously we heard the loud noises of the sirens straight away, obviously coming up and down the street. It's something that the community tries to stay away from, for the safety I guess, for the safety of our children, for our family and friends."

There are unconfirmed reports he had been shot in the arm and neck after an argument.

There have been five shootings in the suburb over the past year. Last October, there was a double shooting on the same road in which one man was killed and another injured.
