A man has died, three people have been taken to hospital and two have escaped injuries after a three-car collision on a highway in Sydney's west.
The westbound lanes of the Great Western Highway are closed as police investigate the crash at Prospect, which happened early on Tuesday.
The three drivers were all taken to Westmead Hospital with a range of non-life threatening injuries, police say.
One passenger, a male, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
The other two passengers involved in the crash were uninjured.
A crime scene has been established and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
