The man, thought to be aged about 70, was walking along Dickens Road at Ambarvale when he was hit by the car.
It then crashed into the front of a house and overturned on the front lawn at about 10.40am (AEST) on Monday.
He suffered a cardiac arrest before paramedics transported him to hospital where he later died, a police spokesman told AAP.
Two men wearing black and red tracksuits were seen exiting the car running down Jarndyce Avenue.
