A man has been savaged by his neighbour's dog while rescuing his own dog outside his western Sydney home.
Police say they are investigating the attack that occurred after the german shepherd went into the yard of the 39-year-old man's Toongabbie home and attacked his Jack Russell-pug cross.
When the man intervened, the german shepherd bit his left forearm, causing six puncture wounds and tendon damage.
The attack occurred about midday on Sunday, the same day a man was savagely mauled by three American Staffordshire terriers in Sydney's southwest.
