NSW Police have completed their investigation into an alleged abduction and gang rape of a Sydney teenager, concluding the entire event was made up.
A 17-year-old reported that she was abducted by a group of males after leaving a party in Baulkham Hills on 3rd March.
Previously reported as an 18-year-old, she reported that she was sexually assaulted by five men in a location nearby.
Police spokeswoman Joanne Elliot said at the time that the woman was stopped and asked for directions.
"She's told police that she was dragged into the car now she has been sexually assaulted by several of those men and then was taken to Castle Hill," she said.
"A suburban area in Waterloo Avenue in Castle Hill is where she was dumped."
Police have completed their investigation into reported abduction and have now concluded that the events didn't occur.
They established Strike Force Mikkelsen to investigate the event and spoke to numerous people over the course of the investigation.
The strike force has now been closed and police are still examining the actions of the 17-year-old girl.
Police urge anyone who has been the victim of sexual assault to come forward, with the assurance that all reports are taken seriously and will be thoroughly investigated.
Reports can be made at any police station.
