HUNDREDS of Western Sydney Wanderers fans have descended on Surry Hills with riot squad and mounted police brought in to monitor the crowd.

The red and black army of supporters have packed the Aurora Hotel on Kippax St, which has been blocked off by about 50 officers, some on horseback and motorbikes.

The boisterous crowd has been well behaved so far, spontaneously breaking out into chants of "Who do we sing for? We sing for Wanderers".

A soccer ball is also being kicked and slapped around between the hundreds of fans.

"Everyone's just happy, there's been no trouble or anything," James and Rachael George, who travelled from Fairfield to watch the game, told the Telegraph.

The fans will shortly march to Allianz stadium, accompanied by police.

FFA chief David Gallop confirmed to Channel 10's Meet The Press this morning that security has been beefed up for the A-League GF following the Boston bombings.

"There will be increased bag checks ... and we are working with security to make sure it is a safe environment,'' Gallop said.
