Police say a seven-year-old girl was indecently assaulted at a beach in Sydney's east on Sunday afternoon.
The girl told police she was climbing a tree with her younger brother at the northern end of Coogee Beach, when a man started talking to them.
Officers were told he tickled the girl's brother before touching her inappropriately.
The children returned to their family on the beach and police were contacted.
The man - who is described as being overweight and aged in his 60s with balding short grey hair - was last seen walking south along the beach footpath.
