Buses replace trains in Sydney's north - Ninemsn

Sydney commuters are experiencing delays on the rail network on Friday morning, with buses replacing trains between Hornsby and Epping.

The Transport Management Centre (TMC) says buses are running between the two stations because "urgent overhead wiring repairs" are taking place at Normanhurst after an incident about 5.30am (AEDT).

The TMC advises citybound passengers on the Northern Line to catch a bus to Epping and then a train, or catch a train to Hornsby and travel via the North Shore Line.

Citybound trains from Newcastle and the Central Coast are operating via the North Shore Line and will make an extra stop at Chatswood, the TMC says.

It's not saying when train services will return to normal.

Passengers are advised to check indicator boards, listen to announcements and allow extra travel time.
