12:45pm: On National Grandstand today, Debbie Spillane is asking for audience contributions on the question of the day: which player are you most looking forward to seeing at the Australian Open?
Here are some of the best early comments from people on Twitter:

@PaulCowderoy TOMIC! Because I'm sick of everyone thinking ALL tennis players should be cut from the same mould. How boring it would be.
@perthtiger anna ivanovic, speaks for herself
@Kylie_Hill Novak- I first came to watch the #ausopen in 2005 when he was 178th in world...I liked him then, and have followed since.
Keep sending in your thoughts, and we will put the best comments on the blog. If you want to listen in to National Grandstand, here's the link:
SOCCER
12:35pm: If you have ever had a poor game in any sport, where the bounce of the ball went totally against you, spare a thought for Stoke City forward Jon Walters, who has had the ultimate horror show in his team's 4-0 Premier League loss to Chelsea:
Walters had a nightmare afternoon at the Britannia Stadium, putting through his own net with a diving header on the stroke of half-time and beating Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic again with a header from a corner just past the hour mark.
He also missed a late penalty.
The other big story of the overnight matches was Reading's comeback win over West Brom, with Reading scoring three times in the last eight minutes to win 3-2 after trailing to Romelu Lukaku's double.

12:23pm: Things are going from bad to worse for New Zealand's struggling cricket team. In the second Test against South Africa at Port Elizabeth overnight, the Black Caps' batting order was again pummelled by the Proteas' attack, reduced to 6 for 47 at stumps on day two.
South Africa had declared at 8 for 525, with Hashim Amla (110), Faf du Plessis (137) and Dean Elgar (103) all reaching centuries in the home side's first innings.
The real pain for New Zealand came after the declaration, with the pace duo of Dale Steyn and Rory Kleinveldt ending the day with figures of 2 for 14 and 2 for 18 respectively.
Left-arm spinner Robin Peterson chimed in with two wickets in two balls.
The Proteas already hold a 1-0 series lead, and a 2-0 scoreline is looking like increasingly likely.

12:15pm: For those of you who are looking forward to the second one-day international between Australia and Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval, there is the possibility of a delayed start to play, looking at the latest radar images coming out of the City of Churches. With a bit of luck, things may clear up well before the scheduled start of play at 2:30pm AEDT. We'll keep you posted.
