New privacy laws needed: Leveson - The Australian



NEW laws and legal norms were likely to be needed in order to protect privacy in the age of the internet, Lord Justice Brian Leveson has told a privacy symposium in Sydney.



Without greater protections, "mob rule" online could lead to a danger not only of "trial by Twitter" but also "of an unending punishment, and no prospect of rehabilitation, on Google", he said.
