A man has been shot while sitting in his car in Sydney's west, an hour before a bullet was fired into a house, police say.
Police were called to Andy Street, Guildford West, about 10.15pm on Wednesday and found a man with gunshot wounds to his leg.
The man had been sitting in the driver's seat of a black Audi when a stranger approached and fired shots into the car, police said.
A blue Toyota Camry and a black Mercedes-AMG then drove away.
The man was taken to hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers were later called to Bowden Steet, Merrylands West, where a Toyota Camry was found alight, and investigators are looking into whether it was linked to the shooting.
An hour after the shooting, officers were called to Edgewater Drive, Bella Vista, and found a shot had been fired into a house, police said.
Four people were in the front room at the time, but noone was injured.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether there were any links between the two shootings.
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
There have been more than 120 shootings in Sydney this year.
On November 12, a cash-in-transit worker was shot up to five times in the leg and abdomen after being ambushed by masked robbers in the car park of the Berala Hotel, Berala.
Five days earlier a 28-year-old Comanchero was shot four times in the stomach in Rhodes.
That followed the fatal shooting of Faalau Pisu, 23, who had links with the Comanchero motorcycle gang, at a wedding reception in Canley Vale.
