A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting in Sydney's west overnight.
Police say the victim, aged in his 30s, was sitting in a car on Andy Street in Guildford West around 10:00pm (AEDT) when he was shot three times in the right leg.
It is believed someone in another vehicle shot at the car.
Constable Simone Catterill says the man is in a stable condition.
"He was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment and his injuries are not considered life threatening," he said.
A crime scene was established and the street was closed off to traffic for several hours as specialist officers examined the area.
About an hour after that shooting, a shot was fired into a house on Edgewater Drive at Bella Vista in Sydney's north-west.
Five people were inside at the time but no-one was injured.
