Ian Chubb defends researchers' prospects under the Defence Trade Controls Bill - The Australian

AS the controversial Defence Trade Controls Bill passed the Senate on Wednesday night, and its most bitter opponents warned of dire consequences for Australian researchers, chief scientist Ian Chubb said the two year trial of the law offered everyone the opportunity to "get real''.

Professor Chubb, who will chair the steering group that will oversee a two year trial of how the laws work for scientists , told the HES "we will be able to focus on important issues''.
