HUNDREDS of people from various trade unions have gathered in Sydney to rally for workplace rights and job security.
The rally has been called as the NSW government continues to roll out job cuts, including an additional 690 rail positions announced last week.
"Working people across NSW need a government that supports them, not one that slashes their positions and removes their workers' compensation rights," Unions NSW secretary Mark Lennon said ahead of the rally.
Federal workplace relations minister Bill Shorten and a group of workers will address the crowd at the forum in the Masonic Centre in Sydney's CBD.
